Hurray the season is changing, late spring is here and strawberries are in season. Well not really in New Mexico, but our Co-op and other grocery stories are filled with delicious berries. I love smoothies and granola topped with Strawberries, but it can be fun to mix up the usual go to’s.
We have been playing with all sorts of fun combos and this simple strawberry milk is a fav. The milk is super easy, a great boost of vitamin C, and such a nice shade of pink! The hemp seeds give it an extra boost of super foods and I love the date and almond combo …did you know dates have more potassium than bananas. For extra calories on those days you need a bit more, a scoop of almond butter is a great addition and I also love to throw in spinach from time to time…. really this is just a great base, you can add all sorts of fun ingredients.
Ingredients
3 cups diced strawberries
2 cups almond milk ( 1 1/2 if want thicker) … I think homemade almond milk makes a huge difference in this recipe
1/2 tablespoon of hemp seeds
1 large date (pitted)
Directions
Blend all together in your vitamix, makes around 3 servings
